COX FARMS
I heard of Cox Farms over the years. I am not really into dust or animals but all the raving reviews peaked my interest. Issa and I were invited to celebrate a family day for The Northern Virginia Black Attorneys Association (NOVABAA) Being on the guest list allowed us to bypass the long lines and head to pavillion 7.
The farm was huge! I did not walk around the entire farm because ironically it was 80 degrees that day. I could not believe my son text me to tell me he was on a hayride without me. I thought I would be able to get pictures and we could do it together. He went on to say it would have been too bumpy for me (eyeroll).
My favorite area to explore was the market. Issa and I received one small free pumpkin each by showing our wristband. I spent a lot of time in the produce shop and overheard someone tell a customer the peach jelly was the best. I purchased a small jar of peach jelly, two golden apples, five different flavored honey sticks as a gift and a beautiful stone butterfly.
I would definitely go again next year but I will wear old boots. I do not know why I thought I could get away with wearing black Jumpmans. Issa had on his Reimagines and we both left with extra dusty shoes. If you a sneaker enthusiasts wear your oldest pair. I guess that is a given and I was severely out of touch with what to wear, even after watching several seasons of Yellow Stone.
Afterwards we went to the Vegan Festival in D.C. The parking was insane! I had only 1 hour before the event was over. I was able to grab some favorites from the Desmond’s Grill tent (what a pleasant surprise) and try an item from the Hue Cafe truck. Issa waited 45 min for his burger! He said it was worth the wait. After that tasting I am motivated to visit the store front and explore more of the menu.
